How to choose a cake display cabinet? The right choice in 6 steps

Fiamak Cooling

A cake display cabinet is a patisserie's showcase. The right cabinet keeps products fresh, catches the customer's eye and boosts sales. Consider these six steps when choosing.

1. Size it to your counter

Measure the space where the cabinet will go, as well as door and corridor widths. 100, 120, 150, 200 and 250 cm are the most common lengths. If you offer a wide daily range, consider one size up.

2. Choose the glass type

Straight glass cabinets give a modern look and also show products from the side. Curved glass and sliding glass models provide easy access on the service side.

3. Fan-assisted cooling and humidity control

Fan-assisted (dynamic) cooling distributes cold air evenly throughout the cabinet. Humidity control prevents cakes from drying out and creams from cracking.

4. Temperature range

Between +2 and +6 °C is generally suitable for cakes and desserts. For chocolate, cabinets with separate humidity and temperature settings should be preferred.

5. Lighting and appearance

LED lighting makes products look bright and uses little electricity. With wooden, white ornamented or plain colour front options, you can match the cabinet to your shop's décor.

6. After-sales support

Buying from a company that offers service and spare parts support is the decision that saves the most in the long run.
