7 tips for saving electricity with your display cabinet
Refrigerated display cabinets run all day, so small habits make a big difference to your bill.
- Keep the cabinet away from heat sources. Ovens, hobs and windows in direct sunlight put strain on the compressor.
- Leave an air gap at the back. Leave at least 10 cm between the cabinet and the wall so the condenser can breathe.
- Clean the condenser regularly. A dusty condenser uses more electricity. Cleaning it with a brush once a month is enough.
- Check the door seals. A torn or loose seal lets cold air escape.
- Do not overfill the cabinet. Products blocking the air ducts cause uneven cooling.
- Use a night blind or cover. Using a cover after closing time on open-type cabinets reduces consumption.
- Choose LED lighting. LEDs use little electricity and do not heat up the inside of the cabinet.
